More than 200 CNC and cam-controlled automatic lathes form the heart of our production. Whether single-spindle, multi-spindle or rotary transfer machines, we select the optimum process for each component and guarantee precision, efficiency and process stability in series.
But precision does not end with turning. Through our extensive further processing steps – from hardening to grinding, lapping and blasting and on to assembly – we create additional process reliability and a high depth of manufacturing. The result is components from a single source that meet the highest demands in dimensional accuracy, surface quality and functional reliability.

Our CNC-controlled multi-spindle machines offer maximum flexibility and precision in the series production of complex components.
They come into their own particularly with demanding geometries, tight tolerances and changing batch sizes. Because tools and sequences can be adapted quickly, we can also implement short-notice changes economically – perfectly matched to our customers’ requirements and to Klumpp’s high quality standards

Cam-controlled multi-spindle automatic lathes
Our cam-controlled multi-spindle automatic lathes are the centrepiece of our series production.
They work with mechanical cam control and therefore achieve extremely short cycle times – ideal for high volumes. Combining them with CNC components gives us additional flexibility for complex geometries or variable machining steps. In this way we bring together the best of both worlds: the speed of cam technology and the precision of modern CNC control – for turned parts in volumes of millions.

Our rotary transfer machines combine the highest precision with maximum productivity.
Their multi-station design allows several machining steps to be carried out simultaneously – ideal for complex turned and milled components in high volumes. Each station performs a defined process step, which results in short cycle times and consistently high quality. This technology is particularly economical for components that require tight tolerances, demanding shapes or additional machining in high volumes.

Our single-spindle lathes complement our machinery with two distinct technologies: soft turning and hard turning.
While soft-turning machines are used for the precise machining of blanks before the hardening process, specialised hard-turning machines allow hardened components to be finish-machined with the highest dimensional accuracy. Both processes are CNC-controlled and permit the economical manufacture of complex geometries with consistently stable processes and smaller batch sizes.
Further processing and assembly for maximum depth of manufacturing
After turning comes perfection: through hardening, hard turning, grinding, lapping, blasting and assembly, we create components with maximum dimensional accuracy and functional reliability.

Heat treatment
With our own continuous furnace for heat treatment, we ensure short distances and consistent quality. Hardening takes place under a controlled atmosphere of hydrogen and nitrogen – for optimum microstructural properties, dimensional stability and reproducible results in series

Hard turning
In hard turning we machine hardened materials with the highest dimensional accuracy. State-of-the-art CNC-controlled hard-turning machines make tight tolerances of just a few hundredths of a millimetre possible – efficiently, precisely and reliably.

Through-feed grinding
In through-feed grinding we achieve high-precision surfaces and tight dimensional tolerances on rotationally symmetrical components

Fine grinding
In fine grinding we achieve the highest surface qualities and the tightest form and position tolerances. This process delivers perfect functional surfaces and dimensional stability – ideal for components with the highest demands on precision and low friction in series.

Lapping
In lapping we optimise form accuracy and surface quality down to the micrometre range. Using specialised tools and abrasives, we achieve uniform, highly smooth functional surfaces – ideal for components requiring minimal friction and maximum sealing performance.

Blasting
In blasting we specifically improve the surface condition and increase component strength. The process removes burrs, cleans and homogenises the surface – an important step in lastingly optimising the function, appearance and durability of precision parts.

Assembly
In our assembly department, precise individual components become ready-to-use assemblies. Through automated and manual processes we join turned parts, springs, seals and further components into complete units
